Mayhem Win32

Recently, shash ported Mayhem to Win32. Mayhem is one of the production I did when I was a member of the demoscene spanish group called Incognita. We won EuskalParty97 with that production.

The port is not exactly the original but you can get a good idea of how one of the first productions to run almost entirely in SVGA and hicolor looked (when watching it, remember that it was done in 1997).

You can download it from here.

Thanks to Shash for this great port.

  2. haha! :-D

This is not the demo with the stack manager you remember. But yes, this demo had lot of problems in the party: it was projected in the videowall using my own pc thanks to the organization. :-)

  3. Just, to know, did you find any differences that I didn’t notice between the original and the port? The only unnoticeable one that I know of, is a slight difference in the projection of some scenes, but after some comparison with the original, I thought nobody would notice the 1 or 2 pixel difference. Anyway, as you know, I can fix whatever mistakes introduced while porting it :)

  4. Hi shash,

I didn’t make myself clear. The differences I was talking about are the plasma and raytracing resolution. In the original version, these effects were rendered at 320×240, in the port they run at the same resolution that the rest of the demo which is almost pixel perfect in comparison with the original.

So, the port is better than the original. Good work.
